Kawamura Kougai – 河村虹外 (1861-1932) – Waterfall – 滝

$400.00 CAD

SOLD. THANK-YOU! –Born in Fukui Prefecture, Kawamura-san was a painter of the Southern (Nanga) school. He studied and then worked and exhibited in Kyoto and then later served as secretary of the Japan Nanga Association. Although he struggled with alcoholism, he was awarded a certificate of merit at the National Industrial Exhibition. This is a very fine waterfall that is matched perfectly by its high quality silk mounting. It will exude tranquility as the showpiece of a room arranged tastefully in the traditions and teachings of feng shui and complemented by ikebana. Very good condition for its age (minor tiny stains and wrinkles).
