This piece was painted by one of the top Utagawa school painters of the 19th century. Beautiful real silver paint was used for the spear tip, and the carver’s hand at executing the line of the artists’ rendering of the hair and kimono is exquisite (enlarge twice to view properly). Good condition (folding lines from being a kuchi-e [folded into book] print). Excellent impressions.
