Rakusai Onishi – 尾西楽斎 – Brush Slip Chawan – 茶碗

Rakusai Onishi is primarily an Akihada practitioner from Yamato Kooriyama who has been an official potter for Kasuga Shrine (an Unesco Heritage Site) since 2006. His other stylistic preference is this slip brush design with creamy brown and white glazes. Rakusai-san is the 6th generation of his family to continue the Akihada tradition. The family has crafted beautiful pottery for lords, head monks, samurai class families and merchants since ancient times.
