This piece is elegantly decorated with a shippo design (ancient Japanese geometrical patterns) as well as gold paint in the shape of clouds. Shallow and appropriate for the warmer months. Hashimoto Jogaku is the father of potter Hashimoto Shiun (1940-). Born in Fukui prefecture, he studied in Manchuria in his early years. After WWII, he studied with master potter Inoue Harumine.
