Harunobu was an innovator, the first to produce full-color prints (nishiki-e) in 1765. This piece is a fine example of a very delicate, elegant balance of soft colours. The mandarin oranges are good luck for abundance, happiness and prosperity. The white-eye is auspicious for beautiful song or voice, with the best period to hear it being in May and June. Extremely high quality Adachi Institute print in double folder with notes enclosed (translated by Shigetaka Kaneko). – 8.5″ x 11″ (image size) – Will look perfectly elegant when properly framed, or can be enjoyed when taken out of your collection to view flat in the appropriate lighting. Date: Shōwa period.
