Utagawa Kunisada III (1848-1920) was the inheritort of his great master’s studio. Here, he has captured the grace of the great Ichikawa Danjūrō IX. The autumn leaf pattern on the kimono is representative of that which is “wabi-sabi“. Normal condition (one tear on margin that will be obscured by matting when framed). Fine impressions. Date: Meiji period.
