Hiroshige was one of the most prolific artists in Japanese history. Amanohashidate is one of Japan’s “3 Scenic Views” and most Japanese people make it there at least once in their lifetime. When people get to the top of the small mountain where the popular lookout is, they turn their back to it and then bend over and look at it from between their legs, so as to view it as a bridge to the heavens. Publisher: Oedo Mokuhansha. High quality. Copies of this print are not easy to find. Made in the exact traditional manner as the original (1837).
