Date: Showa period (1960’s). / Condition: Very good. With high-quality, hand-printed “bokashi” shading gradations. Hand-printed by master printers from carvings by master carvers on extremely high quality Echizen kizuki hosho washi (a unique handmade Japanese type of paper – see pictures to inspect the rough “kiri” edges). Made from start to finish using the techniques of traditional Ukiyo-e. Provenance: Private collection, Kyoto. The poem reads (roughly translated): “If you look around, you’ll see even the distant foothills, and there’s no door to the gates. Shunkatei Namine (Sound of waves beside Shunkatei Inn).”
