Soon after he studied with the great master of painting “bijin” (beauties) Kikuchi Keigetsu. This study lead to his first exhibitions and then further study with Uda Tekison. Further entries into exhibition led to various prizes and culminated in a commissioned exhibition in 1972. One of the pinnacles of his career was the exhibition of his folding screens commissioned by the Imperial Household. These prints come from the high quality, limited edition release of 200 sets of 54 prints each in 1953. Sealed “Masao”. The “Genjimon” symbol at the top right of each print changes with each chapter title. Strong gold, silver and metallic pigments and some hand-painted touches from print to print.
