Seto-yaki is one of the older styles of tea bowl and dates from the Heian Period.  Kato Goto’s lineage can be traced back to Kato Shuntai (1802-1877). Here, the cranes are auspicious for longevity. Kato-san’s kiln is in Seto city, Aichi prefecture and has a rich pottery history.
