From Gifu prefecture, Hiroi-san was known to specialize in landscape painting, animal painting, “Fugaku,” which depicts Mt. Fuji, kappas, and “Shepherd Boy,” which depicts cows and children.

A disciple of Nishiyama Hideo (1911-1989), he received the Chubu Exhibition Award. 主な受賞歴: 中部総合展優賞.

He was also a member of the Nitten: 日展 (Nitten): Abbreviation for the Japan Fine Arts Exhibition (日本美術展覧会).

Very good condition for its age. I have placed it in the late 50’s – early 60’s based on the aging of the upper verso.
