Iida Gyoshun – 飯田暁春 (act. Showa period) – Warbler & Plum Blossoms – 鶯と梅

SOLD. THANK-YOU!

Iida-san is part of the old guard of modern Nihonga painting. A Tokyo native, he has shown in exhibitions and is a master of the styles that he inherited from his teacher, the great Odake Kokkan, (brother of Odake Chikuha and Odake Etsudo). The final two images are of another painting of his recently available in Japan. The ancient symbolism of this scroll is overcoming adversity, being successful, as well as being a zen reminder of the importance of having a beautiful voice. We would be happy to explain to you how this is so. Very good condition.

SOLD. THANK-YOU!
