SOLD. THANK-YOU!
After graduating from the Kyoto Prefectural School of Painting after the turn of the century, Keiju studied with the great Imao Keinen, who became his father-in-law and gave him the “Ke” (景) for his painters name. Under Keinen, he too became a master of (kachō-e – also, (kachō-ga).
His talent was great enough that he became one of the notable painters that helped modernize Nihonga as Japan entered the Showa period. His works are held in various international collections, including the Ichinomiya City Museum, the Kuwana City Museum, and the National Bonsai & Penjing Museum. Normal condition (light foxing bottom of honshi, one dark foxing spot top right of sun). -Still very enjoyable. This is Imai-san keeping up with his contemporary, Otake Chikuha, who was very highly regarded for his sunrises over the sea. *Please click a second time on the top left corner of the pictures to expand them.
