Inoda Seii – 猪田 青以 (1906-1976) – Plover and the Moon – チドリ科と月

Inoda-san continued the lineage of Kyoto -based artists forging and continuing to explore the depths of modern Nihonga. He was a student of Nishimura Goun (1877-1938), Yamaguchi Kayô (1899-1984), Maeda Tekison (1895-1947) and Nishimura Takuzô (1908-1955). He exhibited at the Teiten, Shin Bunten and the Nitten exhibitions. This piece was painted between 1965-1975. With the original signed storage box with his matching signature on the underside of the lid. This piece is auspicious for truthful marriage. One of his pieces is held in the The National Museum of Modern Art, Kyoto and they are not often available internationally for purchase.
