This is a scene of shell-fish gathering at low tide at Nobuto, west of Chiba City. The two torii of Nabuto Shrine rise from shallow waters at low tide. It was a portable shrine that was moved and so these torii no longer exist. This print comes with extra notes in English and Japanese. Excellent condition. Large “dai-oban” size. Hand-printed by master printers from carved blocks by master carvers for the Takamizawa Company (company stamp on verso – see last picture). Date: Shōwa period.
