Kawasaki-san is the 7th generation of Waraku potters. Kawasaki Motoo, the 8th generation is now overseeing duties at the kiln. Raku-yaki chawan are some of the most sought after tea bowls, and date back to ancient Kyoto, when they were created under the direction of the founding father of the Japanese tea ceremony: Sen-No-Rikyu.
