Komuro-san was an official painter to the Imperial Household. This type of fan-shaped mekuri can be framed, or mounted into a hanging scroll. As a painter of his stature, he would use real gold paint for pieces like this fan. -Absolutely gorgeous, with expertly controlled ink infusion techniques. This is the epitome of elegance and refinement in Japanese art. Signed “翠雲寫” (Suiun su “Suiun painting from life”) with 2 seals.
