This print contains ancient symbolism that is auspicious for the home in which it hangs. The Shiitake Mushroom, and mushrooms in general, are auspicious for immortality. Somehow the ancients knew that they lived longer than almost anything else. As a matter of fact, there is some debate that some earth mushroom spores may be older than the planet, as the spores are electron-dense and can live in the vacuum of space. Gets you thinking about those magic ones, eh?
