SOLD. -THANK-YOU!

After studying in both China and Japan, Morita-san spent some time in Kurashiki and Kitakyushu before settling in Tokyo to teach painting as well as perform and teach the traditional tea ceremony with his wife. He kept busy with many traditional works of Buddhist art and before the war held a number of solo exhibitions. Some of his commissions include decorating an ancient dōjō and designing Yatsuyama garden. He kept close ties to the Rinzai sect until the end of his life. The ancient symbolism inherent in this piece is auspicious for many things and we would be happy to share it with you upon your visit or request.
