Murata-san was one of the four major painters of Chikuzen province. When young, he travelled to Nagasaki to study Nanga under 徐雨亭/ Xu Yuting and Tetsuō Somon. Due to his extensive studies with those two masters, his pieces (as do this one) radiate literati elegance and refinement. He is held in the Fukuoka Prefecture Museum of Art, the British Museum, the Nakanoshima Museum of Art, Osaka, etc.

Very good condition for its age (some minor reinforcements on the upper verso, a bit of normal wear upper sides of mounting, and minor foxing). Gorgeous celadon roller ends and the highest quality, shimmering silk. Small and easily manageable. Highest recommendations.
