Oono Sōshi – 大野草思 (b. 1972) – Waterfall Landscape – 滝の山水

$300.00 CAD

SOLD. – THANK-YOU!

This piece nicely balances the two ancient symbolic meanings of water, which is a Zen reflection of the inner self. Active water reflects one’s inner energy and vitality and calm water reflects one’s inner calm. Mist or fog is a Zen reminder of the intangible things in life that we can’t grasp or comprehend, and mountains are longevity and immortality.

Oono Sōshi was born in Saitama Prefecture and studied under Oono Itsuo (b. 1941), who is held on the Adachi Museum of Art and has exhibited regularly for decades. Sōshi won a prize in the Spring Creative Exhibition, was selected for the Tobiten Exhibition, received the Ten Bijutsuin Award, placed at the Wolong Sakura Japanese Painting Award Exhibition, placed at the Excellence Award Group Exhibition (3 times), as well as solo exhibitions.
