SOLD. -THANK-YOU!
Ohō was an Edo period master of the Rinpa school and a disciple of Sakai Hoitsu. He is a direct Rinpa School descendant of the great Tawaraya Sōtatsu, who painted one of the most famous Japanese paintings in history. He is held in The MET, The Victoria & Albert, Art Institute of Chigago, The Tokyo National, The Burke Collection, Seattle Art Museum, and others.
At first glance it may seem like the jikusaki (roller ends) are missing, -but they are not. If you look closely, you will see that the short ends are covered with a decorative silk, -this was an artistic choice on the part of the mounting artisan. Fair-good normal condition (many small damages that do not detract from enjoying the artwork).
