Surviving records show that 竹田梅竹 was included in the official list of famous painters of 1913, -other than that, the only other thing we can almost be certain of is that he was a student of the legendary Tanomura Chokunyu  田野村直入,  who was the adopted son of Tanomura Chikuden 田能村 竹田.  Normal condition for its age (a few small stains, creases and small damages). Very elegant lathed and stained jikusaki (roller ends). Sealed with a psuedonym “Chikusai” to the upper right of the mountain poetry.
