Paradise Bound On YouTube.

Takeuchi Seihō was one of the greatest painters of the Nihonga genre of the 20th century. Cranes are auspicious for longevity. This is a hand-painted original on thick washi paper that can be framed or mounted as a hanging scroll (framing is far less expensive). A “gofun” pigment was used for the feathers (crushed seashells) and it comes out powerfully in good natural light. Very good condition. Provenance: I acquired this in Kyoto in November of 2025 and originals by Seihō are usually somewhat expensive. He is held in the MOMAT, Yale University, Honolulu Museum, Museum of the Imperial Collections, etc. etc… The Seattle Art Museum has quite a few.
