Held in the British Museum, The Art Institute of Chicago and others, Tsutomu-san was selected for the Japan Print Association Exhibition in 1973, and has shown there every year since. In 1986, he received an honorable mention at the 1st Tama Shusaku Art Award Exhibition. In 1987, he won the Mexican Art Prize for Excellence, and in 1991, he won the Peruvian Art Prize for Excellence. He started making woodblock prints as a child and has raised his skills to the level now where he can expertly add unique reflective compounds with the used of special chemicals and paint pigments. This often results in beautiful relfective and shimmering surfaces as can be seen with this piece (although very difficult to accurately capture with photography, -and always far more beautiful in person). He also works in a rare “puzzle-style” method of block carving, which can be seen in this video interview about a recent exhibition of some of his work. -Wholly unique and rarely available in the west. Hand-numbered 21 of 23, titled and signed by Tsutomu-san. Excellent condition (normal chemical bleeding and spotting).

19 cm x 27 cm – Comes with a document of authenticity and an email containing 3 hours worth of relevant information.
