Utagawa Yoshifusa was a student of Kuniyoshi and a colleague of Yoshitoshi, and was well known for continuing the Utagawa school’s dramatic presentations of warrior stories. Here, part of the 47 Ronin is depicted in a winter scene. Signed Ippôsai Yoshifusa ga 一宝斎芳房画画. With 2 censors seals. Good condition. Date: Circa 1850’s – Will look very striking in the right frame.
