Yamaguchi-san was born in Kyoto, as Keizo Furuzawa. He was adopted into a famous Kyogen acting family and became a Noh actor. Shortly after, he began to study painting with the great Taniguchi Kokyo, acquiring his master’s great trade secrets by the age of 20. He devoted himself to art and acting for the rest of his life. His prints are not as easily acquired as other prolific Noh-ga artists, as he devoted himself to high-quality prints while also acting, -and so his output is not as voluminous as others. He was selected for the Bunten (Fine Arts)  Exhibition.

Absolutely gorgeous. -Rich use of strong mineral and reflective mica pigments. Beware of later strikes with duller surfaces. Very good condition.
